ZonePro is the dbx processor family for multi-zone installed audio: restaurants, retail floors, houses of worship, and anywhere a system has to be set once and then run by staff who are not audio people. The 6-in, 4-out models take two switchable mic or line inputs on Euroblock plus four RCA source pairs; the 12-in, 6-out models take six balanced mic/line inputs, four mono-summed RCA source pairs, and an S/PDIF input. Mic preamp gain runs 30 to 60 dB with 15V phantom.

Conversion uses the dbx Type IV system, which is where the >119 dB A-weighted dynamic range comes from, running at a 48 kHz sample rate with 0.003 percent THD+N typical and 20 Hz to 20 kHz response within half a decibel. Propagation delay is 0.6 ms on the 6x4 units and 0.8 ms on the 12x6. The M models add a front-panel LCD and controls for source selection, page steering, zone volume, and mute, so an operator can make a change at the rack without a laptop. The 12x6 models also carry six independent six-segment output meters. Day to day control is by ZC-series wall panels over standard structured cable.
