dbx 560A Compressor/Limiter (500 Series)

The 560A puts dbx's VCA compression circuit into a single 500 Series slot, with a ratio that runs continuously from 1:1 through infinity:1 and up to 60 dB of compression on tap. A switch selects OverEasy for a soft, program-dependent knee or hard knee for a harder-edged limiting sound, and program-dependent attack and release times keep gain reduction musical without manual tuning.

Input is electronically balanced and RF filtered at 40 kOhm balanced or 20 kOhm unbalanced, accepting up to +22 dBu before clipping, and output matches at +22 dBu max. Dynamic range runs past 119 dB, and the module draws 60 mA per rail from the rack's shared power supply.
