Crestron CEN-IO-IR Network I/O Module, 4 IR Ports

IR emitters have to be at the equipment, which is exactly where a control processor usually is not. The CEN-IO-IR module puts four IR ports there instead. Each carries infrared up to 1.2 MHz, or one-way serial as TTL/RS-232 at 0 to 5 Volts up to 115.2k baud, on a single 8-pin 3.5 mm detachable terminal block, so a stack of set-top boxes, displays and disc players can be driven from a device the size of a paperback.

Choose the transport. The CEN-IO-IR-104 is the wired model, taking data and power from a single 100Base-TX RJ45 as an IEEE 802.3at Type 1 Class 0 powered device at 2.3 W. The CEN-IO-IR-204 is the Wi-Fi model, an 802.11a/b/g/n client on 2.4 or 5 GHz with WPA2-PSK, storing up to five access points and reaching around 50 ft, powered from an included 5 VDC pack. Both models are the same IFE micro enclosure: a stackable black and blue plastic body that sits freestanding, screws to a flat surface, or clips onto 35 mm DIN EN 60715 rail using the included bracket, occupying eight DIN module spaces. Rack and pole mounting kits are sold separately. Setup is done from Crestron Toolbox or a web browser, and TLS 1.2, local authentication and SSL are supported on the control system and web connections. Front LEDs report power, control system connection and setup state.
