Crestron CGDMX-512BI Bi-Directional DMX-512 Interface
The CGDMX-512BI is the bridge between a Crestron control system and a DMX512 lighting rig. It takes a single RS-232/422 port on the processor and presents a full DMX universe, with a DMX Out to drive fixtures and dimmers and a separate DMX In to receive from a lighting console or other DMX512 controller, both on 5-pin XLR.
The DMX In is what makes it more than a transmitter. The interface merges incoming console data with the Crestron system's own output, and the merge rule is selectable: highest-takes-precedence, latest-takes-precedence, or exclusive. The media processor can change modes on the fly and can set the HTP, LTP or exclusive behaviour per channel, so a house console can be given priority on the stage rig while the control system keeps the architectural channels. The chassis is 200 by 110 by 57 mm and 480 g, runs from an IEC inlet at 100-250VAC, has all I/O isolated to DIN3 56930-2/4.2.3, and carries LEDs for power, Cresnet traffic and valid DMX512 input.
