Crestron CEN-IO-COM Network I/O Module, 2 COM Ports

A control system runs out of RS-232 ports long before it runs out of processing. The CEN-IO-COM module adds two more of them wherever the equipment actually is, rather than pulling a long serial run back to the rack. Both ports are bidirectional, run up to 115.2k baud with hardware and software handshaking, and land on 5-pin 3.5 mm detachable terminal blocks, so a projector, display or third-party controller connects and reports back over the network.

Choose the transport. The CEN-IO-COM-102 is the wired model: a single 100Base-TX RJ45 carries both data and power as an IEEE 802.3at Type 1 Class 0 powered device, drawing 1.9 W, so no local supply is needed. The CEN-IO-COM-202 is the Wi-Fi model, an 802.11a/b/g/n client on 2.4 or 5 GHz with WPA2-PSK, able to memorise up to five access points and reaching roughly 50 ft, powered by an included PW-0510WUL 5 VDC pack and set up through a Micro-USB console port. Both models are the same IFE micro enclosure: a stackable black and blue plastic body that sits freestanding, screws to a flat surface, or clips onto 35 mm DIN EN 60715 rail using the included bracket, occupying eight DIN module spaces. Rack and pole mounting kits are sold separately. Setup is done from Crestron Toolbox or a web browser, and TLS 1.2, local authentication and SSL are supported on the control system and web connections. Front LEDs report power, control system connection and setup state.
