Whirlwind LMPRE Microphone Preamplifier

The LMPRE is a single channel microphone preamplifier for the places a mic has to reach line level equipment that was never designed to take one: a consumer receiver, an outboard processor, a distribution amplifier or a powered speaker.

Two tone controls are there to lift intelligibility on speech rather than to sculpt music, and a peak limiter keeps a shouted announcement from overloading whatever is downstream. Level metering and limit threshold LEDs show what is happening, 24 VDC phantom power is available for condenser mics, and the output leaves on a balanced male XLR or dual mono RCA jacks.
