Tightrope Cablecast CBL-SX4-530 Four-Channel Video Server

The CBL-SX4-530 is the four-channel member of the Cablecast SX video-server line - four independent playback outputs and two record/encoder inputs, each available on composite and SDI. Like the rest of the line it plays a station's files in their native format, so MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, and the DV and DVCPRO family go to air without transcoding.

It runs the complete Cablecast automation, scheduling, and Carousel branding framework from a web interface, controls routing switchers and record decks over serial, and supports up to fifteen Carousel bulletin-board channels. Content sits on a RAID5 array with a separate system drive; balanced XLR and embedded-SDI audio plus a black-burst genlock input tie the four channels into a broadcast plant. It occupies 3RU.
