Tightrope Cablecast CBL-SX2-530 Two-Channel Video Server

The Cablecast SX2 is a multi-format video server that folds scheduling, automation, channel branding and Carousel bulletin-board software into one compact box. It drives two independent output channels with a built-in encoder, and it plays back almost anything a producer hands in - DV, DVCAM, DVCPRO, MPEG-2 in both 4:2:0 and 4:2:2, MPEG-4, H.264, AVI and IMX - with no transcoding required. Everything is run from a web-based interface, so the channel is controllable from anywhere.

On the back panel it carries both composite (BNC) and SDI (BNC) inputs and outputs, balanced analog stereo on XLR, SDI embedded audio, and an analog black-burst genlock reference. Content sits on 4TB of RAID5 storage with a separate 500GB RAID1 system drive, and the chassis runs on redundant power over gigabit Ethernet. Channel branding adds a station bug, corner bug text and a bottom crawl with foreground and background graphics, and Tightrope includes free support for the life of the server.
