Shure VP83 Camera-Mount Condenser Microphone
The VP83 LensHopper is a camera-mount condenser shotgun microphone built to replace the thin, noisy audio a DSLR or HD camcorder captures on its onboard mic. Its supercardioid/lobar capsule reaches straight down the barrel to pull in the subject and reject room reflections, traffic, and off-axis crew noise, while a full low-end response keeps voices and natural ambience solid instead of tinny.
An integrated Rycote Lyre shock mount isolates the capsule from camera handling and bump noise, and the all-metal body stands up to field work. The VP83 slides into the camera shoe, feeds the recorder through an integrated 3.5 mm output, and runs for hours on a single AA battery, with a switchable -10 dB pad to handle loud sources without distortion.
