Shure 545SD-LC All Purpose Microphone
The 545SD is the direct ancestor of the SM57, built around the same Unidyne III capsule that shaped decades of live and studio sound. It is a cardioid dynamic instrument microphone with a tightly controlled pickup pattern that keeps the source up front and holds down the monitor and PA bleed that starts feedback on a busy stage. The response is tuned for snare, guitar amps, and brass, giving instruments body without the harsh top end that fatigues an ear over a long set.
What sets the 545SD apart from a fixed-wired SM57 is its dual-impedance wiring and its silent magnetic reed on/off switch with a lock option, so it can drop into low- or high-impedance rigs and stay put during a performance. It connects through a standard XLR-type output and ships with the A25D microphone clip for fast stand mounting.
