Shure KSM9HSHandheld Vocal Microphone
The KSM9HS is a handheld vocal condenser built for engineers who want to shape the room as well as the voice. Dual 3/4-inch gold-layered Mylar diaphragms feed a Class A discrete, transformerless preamp, and a switch under the grille flips the mic between two patterns: a tight hypercardioid for maximum gain-before-feedback and isolation on a loud stage, and a wider subcardioid for a more open, natural sound when bleed is not the enemy. That flexibility lets one mic cover a screaming rock stage and an intimate acoustic set.
An advanced suspension shock mount isolates the cartridge to keep handling noise down, and a three-stage grille curbs pops and breath noise without dulling the top end. The KSM9HS runs on 48V phantom power over a standard 3-pin XLR output, presenting a 145 Ohm output impedance to the console.
