MOTU 10pre 26x28 Thunderbolt/USB4 Audio Interface with AVB Networking
The 10pre puts ten XLR/TRS combo preamps across the front of a 1U interface, each with its own pad, phantom power and 74 dB of digitally stepped gain in 1 dB increments. Channels 1 and 2 add balanced send/return inserts, so an outboard compressor or channel strip drops into the path ahead of the converters. Total I/O runs 26 in and 28 out at base sample rates, including two ADAT optical banks that switch to S/MUX at double rates and to stereo TOSLink on bank A.
Two Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 Type-C ports connect to any modern Mac or Windows host, and the interface is USB audio class compliant, so it runs without a driver. Round-trip latency measures about 1.8 ms at 96 kHz with a 32-sample buffer. Gigabit AVB Ethernet carries audio to other MOTU interfaces or a standards-based AVB network, and the onboard mixer with reverb, EQ, gate and compression is controlled from a web app served by the hardware itself.
