MOTU 8pre USB Audio Interface with Eight Mic Preamps and ADAT

The 8pre gives eight microphone and instrument preamps with 24-bit, 96 kHz recording and playback, plus eight channels of ADAT optical digital I/O on two lightpipe connections that work together to carry a full eight channels at any rate up to 96 kHz. That combination makes it work equally well as a primary interface for a small tracking room or as an eight-channel preamp expander feeding a digital mixer or a larger interface.

The included CueMix software mixes all sixteen inputs and creates separate monitor mixes for the main outputs and the headphone jack, with talkback and listenback, and monitoring happens in the hardware so there is no round-trip latency and no processor load on the computer. A 16-channel MIDI interface is built in, and the unit connects to the host with a standard USB cable.
