MOTU 112D 112-Channel Digital Audio Interface with MADI and AVB

The 112D is a digital-only interface, router and format converter. It carries 24 channels of AES/EBU on three 8-channel D-sub connectors, 24 channels of ADAT optical on three banks, and 64 channels of MADI, all active at the same time for 112 channels in and 112 out. MADI runs 64 or 56 channels at base rates, 32 channels at double rates and 16 at quad, and converts freely to Thunderbolt, AVB, AES/EBU and optical without passing through a computer.

Routing is a grid: one click sends any input to any output or to several at once, including to and from the host and to any device on the AVB network. Latency through the box is measured in samples rather than milliseconds, 14 samples or 0.29 ms digital in to digital out at 48 kHz, which is what makes it usable as a live format converter and splitter. The host connects over Thunderbolt, AVB Ethernet, or class-compliant high-speed USB 2.0 that is also compatible with USB 3.0 and iOS.
