Martin VDO Dotron IP65 RGB LED Pixel Dot A 72mm IP65 RGB dot with field-exchangeable diffusers and lens array
The VDO Dotron is a single RGB pixel in a 72 mm IP65 puck, meant for the jobs where a batten cannot follow the shape: curved trusses, scenic contours, facades and free-form dot grids. Each dot puts out 120 lumens calibrated at 40 cd, and an array on 100 mm centres reads as roughly 4000 nits. The LEDs are tightly binned for color and flux, which is what keeps a wall of several hundred dots from looking patchy.
The front is field-exchangeable, so the same fixture can be run open, flat, flat smoked, dome, dome smoked or with a narrow lens array, moving the viewing angle from 103 degrees open to 125 degrees behind the dome diffuser or 22 degrees behind the lens array. Color runs 16 bits per channel and refresh is 1001 Hz standard with a 4004 Hz high-refresh mode for camera. Control is Martin P3, direct DMX or RDM, with VideoMapping and PixelMapping modes, and power and data arrive together on a 6-pin IP66-rated BBD connector at 48 VDC drawing 5 W at full white. Each dot is 34 mm deep and weighs 0.3 kg.
