JBL Professional JBL CBT 50LA-1 Constant Beamwidth Technology line array column
The CBT 50LA-1 is the short column in the CBT line: eight 50 mm full-range drivers in a fibreglass-reinforced ABS cabinet, 20.8 inches tall and 9 lb. Constant Beamwidth Technology is analogue delay beam-forming plus amplitude tapering across the driver column. The point is consistent vertical coverage without the narrow beaming and out-of-coverage lobing that plain passive columns produce, which is why these turn up in reverberant rooms where intelligibility is the whole job.
Vertical coverage is 20 degrees over 1.5 to 16 kHz; horizontal is 150 degrees. It runs at 8 ohms or off a 70/100 V line through a switch with 60 W, 30 W and 15 W taps. A swivel and tilt wall bracket is included, with ten M6 inserts on the back panel, and the cabinet is IP-55 rated when fitted with the optional MTC-PC2 panel cover.
