JBL Professional JBL CBT 70J-1 Constant Beamwidth Technology two-way line array column
The CBT 70J-1 is the two-way column in the CBT family: four 130 mm neodymium LF drivers and sixteen 25 mm HF drivers, with asymmetrical vertical coverage that puts more energy toward the back of the room than the front. Constant Beamwidth Technology is analogue delay beam-forming plus amplitude tapering across the driver column. The point is consistent vertical coverage without the narrow beaming and out-of-coverage lobing that plain passive columns produce, which is why these turn up in reverberant rooms where intelligibility is the whole job.
Vertical coverage switches between a 25-degree narrow mode and a 45-degree broad mode; horizontal is 150 degrees. In narrow speech mode it makes 125 dB continuous average. It is an 8 ohm passive box - an external amplifier is required. A swivel and tilt wall bracket is included, and the cabinet is IP-55 rated with the optional MTC-PC2 cover.
