ESE SD-488E SDI Time Code Reader/Generator/Inserter

The SD-488E is the standard-definition counterpart to ESE's 488 series, reading, generating, and inserting time code directly into a 4:2:2 SDI signal on 525-line or 625-line video. It carries LTC, D-VITC, and RP-188 time code formats with dual LTC output, and its inserter mode superimposes time, user bits, and up to thirty characters of text onto the picture across three independent, blank-able display windows.

Configuration runs from the front-panel LCD or the USB setup interface, with seven selectable font colors, adjustable time zone offset, and a choice of YMD, DMY, or MDY on-screen date formats. A universal 90-264 VAC supply lets it drop into any rack without an external brick, and it accepts the same factory GPS, NTP, and IRIG options as the rest of the 488 family for facilities that want it to double as a house master clock.
