ESE ES443U SMPTE/EBU Reader
The ES-443U is an eight-digit time code display built to be read across a room. It auto-detects incoming LTC and shows either SMPTE or EBU time code on a 4.0 in red LED readout, in 12- or 24-hour format, with a drop-frame indicator so nobody has to guess which count they are looking at. A setup option switches the display between Time and User Bits, and the same choice can be made remotely by grounding an input on the rear terminal block.
It reads bi-directionally from 1/20 to 10x play speed, so the numbers stay legible while an operator shuttles and jogs rather than blanking out the moment the deck leaves play. Error detection and correction keeps the display flicker-free when the incoming code degrades, an error indicator flags the condition, and the correction can be defeated on an internal DIP switch when you want to see the raw truth. Grounding the Hold input freezes the display. This version is the 42 in wall-mount enclosure, sized for a studio or control-room wall.
