ESE ES456 Desktop SMPTE/EBU Reader

The ES-456 is a microprocessor-based SMPTE time code reader sized for the desktop, showing incoming code on eight 0.56-inch yellow LED digits that are easy to read across a control room. It reads SMPTE as standard, with EBU available as a factory option, and works bi-directionally from 1/30 up to 20x play-speed so it stays locked through shuttle and fast search.

The display shows hours, minutes, seconds and frames, or switches to the user-bit digits. An error-bypass feature keeps the readout flicker-free through poor code, a drop-frame indicator and a Hold control round out the operating set, and a rack-mount chassis is available as an option.
