ESE ES269 VITC to LTC Converter
The ESE ES-269 reads SMPTE or EBU Vertical Interval Time Code embedded in a video signal and converts it to Longitudinal Time Code for gear that needs LTC. EBU mode is selected on an internal DIP switch, and the VITC video line is either chosen manually or found automatically using first-good line detection. Video loops through the unit to another device, and a video termination switch handles the end-of-chain case when the loop-thru is not needed.
A plus or minus one frame switch compensates for the offset differences between various LTC displays, keeping burned-in and slaved readouts in agreement. The ES-269 works as a standalone box on the bench or, with the optional rack mount, drops into a machine-room rack.
