Crestron CLX-2DIMU8 8-Channel Universal Dimmer Module, 2 Feeds, 120V

The CLX-2DIMU8 detects what is on each of its eight channels and picks the dimming mode to suit: reverse phase for incandescent and electronic low-voltage, forward phase for magnetic low-voltage and other inductive loads, or a mode you force in software. Each channel carries 4 Amps or 480 Watts, grouped as two independent fours on separate feeds for a 3,840 Watt module total, with a zero Watt minimum. Constant Power correction and a zero-cross filter hold the output steady when the incoming line is not, which is what keeps LED loads from flickering on a noisy service.

An air-gap relay on every channel lets one circuit be isolated for service without shutting the module down, and over-current, over-voltage, and over-temperature protection covers the rest. The module is UL 924 and CSA C22.2 No. 141-15 listed for emergency lighting: a contact closure from a power loss sensor drives every designated load to a commissioned override level. CLX modules mount in a Crestron CAEN or CAEN-MLO wall enclosure and bus their low-voltage control between one another on a five-wire link, terminating at a CAEN-BLOCK at the bottom of the cabinet, which is what keeps a large centralized system to one Cresnet drop. High-voltage wiring lands on a separate CLT terminal block, sold separately, so the electrician can terminate the feeders before the module is ever fitted.
