AKG PCC160 Boundary Layer Microphone
The PCC160 is a professional boundary-layer microphone and a long-standing standard for stage-floor pickup in theater, drama, and podium use. It handles up to 120 dB SPL without distortion and uses AKG's Phase Coherent Cardioid design, whose small diaphragm pushes phase cancellations above the audible range for a wide, smooth response free of comb filtering.
Its supercardioid pattern improves gain before feedback and rejects room noise from the rear, so it stays clean in a live house. A bass-tilt switch tailors the low end for the surface and application, and the low-profile plate sits discreetly on a stage floor or lectern. It terminates in a Switchcraft TA3F connector.
