AKG C214 Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone
The C214 is a professional large-diaphragm condenser built as a cost-effective route into the C414 sound. It uses one capsule of the C414 dual-capsule system on an integrated suspension that keeps mechanical and handling noise low, giving vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, and drum overheads the detail and open top end a one-inch capsule delivers.
A switchable 20 dB attenuation pad lets it sit in front of sources up to 156 dB SPL without overloading, and a switchable 160 Hz bass-cut filter tames proximity effect and rumble on close work. The fixed cardioid pattern rejects off-axis spill on a busy stage or a tight studio. It ships with the H85 shock mount and a metal carrying case; the matched pair adds a second factory-selected mic for stereo work.
