Violectric HPA V222 Balanced Headphone Amplifier
The HPA V222 shares the compact 165 x 54 x 163 mm aluminum chassis of the V202 but adds four output stages, so balanced headphones run truly balanced rather than bridged. Dynamic range measures better than 131 dB A-weighted, and output impedance stays under 0.5 ohm balanced and 0.25 ohm unbalanced.
Inputs are gold-plated Neutrik XLR and RCA at 10 kOhm, handling up to +21 dBu. PRE-GAIN adjusts internal gain in 7 steps from the rear panel, matching the amplifier to headphone sensitivity so the volume control works across its useful travel and the noise floor stays out of the way. An ALPS RK27 potentiometer handles level behind a 38 mm aluminum knob. Built in Germany, with an internal 230 V or 115 V supply.
