Violectric HPA V550 PRO Balanced Headphone Amplifier

The HPA V550 PRO is the upper version of the analog Violectric flagship, carrying its own item number and a 50 mm solid aluminum volume and attenuator assembly. The chassis is the same full-size 290 x 80 x 248 mm desktop enclosure, and the amplifier section is still four transistor output stages, so balanced headphones are driven truly balanced.

Inputs are gold-plated Neutrik XLR and RCA, selectable from the front. PRE-GAIN trims internal gain in 7 steps so the amplifier is matched to the headphones rather than leaving that job to the volume control, which is what keeps residual noise inaudible on sensitive in-ears and still leaves headroom for high-impedance designs. A machined remote control, power cord and manual ship with the unit, which is built in Germany.
