Sontronics SOLO Handheld Dynamic Microphone
SOLO is Sontronics' handheld vocal dynamic, and its supercardioid pattern is the reason it earns a place on a small stage. A tighter pattern than the usual cardioid means more gain before the wedge starts ringing, which is the difference between a singer who can be heard and one who cannot. Response runs 50 Hz to 15 kHz, shaped for a voice rather than flat for everything.
Maximum SPL is above 140 dB, so a shouted chorus at lip distance does not fold it over. Sensitivity is 5.5 mV/Pa into an impedance under 600 Ohms, on a standard 3-pin XLR with no phantom power required. It weighs 350 g and measures 190 mm long, and the body has been reworked for a firmer grip. Supplied with a mic clip and a zip pouch.
