Shure MX412SE S
The MX412SE/S is the supercardioid, side-exit version of Shure's Microflex 12-inch gooseneck. Instead of the fixed XLR base, it runs a 10 ft (3 m) cable out the side (or bottom) to an in-line preamp, which is the layout you want when a lectern or table needs the electronics hidden and the connector routed away from the top surface. The supercardioid cartridge tightens pickup on the talker and rejects more off-axis sound than a cardioid, useful where nearby loudspeakers or neighboring mics threaten feedback.
Like the rest of the Microflex gooseneck family, it uses a balanced, transformerless output with RF filtering for low-noise runs and interference resistance, and a shock mount isolates it from surface vibration. The kit includes a shock mount, flange mount, and snap-fit foam windscreen, and the electret cartridge is interchangeable with cardioid or omnidirectional versions.
