Sennheiser i42-L Gooseneck Microphone System
The i42-L is a desktop gooseneck microphone system built around the Sennheiser ME 36 capsule, a highly directional super-cardioid/lobar head that reaches for the talker and clamps down hard on everything off-axis. That tight directivity is the reason to spec it: in a reverberant room or a noisy hall it keeps a single voice intelligible where a wider pattern would pull in the crowd and the HVAC.
The ME 36 head sits on an MZH 3042 gooseneck in an MZT30 XLR table mount with an MZS31 shock mount to isolate desk vibration. The capsule runs on 12 to 48V phantom power to a standard 3-pin XLR output. The system ships with the ME 36 capsule and windscreen, the MZH 3042 gooseneck, the MZT30 table mount, and the MZS31 shock mount.
