Sachtler System 18 S2 ENG 2 MCF

The 1863S2 is Sachtler's 18 S2 ENG 2 MCF package, built around the Video 18 S2 fluid head on carbon fibre 2-stage legs with a mid-level spreader. It carries 2 kg to 22 kg (4.41 lb to 48.5 lb) on a 100 mm bowl. Balance and damping are stepped rather than continuous: 16 counterbalance steps + Boost Button and 7 + 0 horizontal and vertical grades of drag on each axis, so a rig can be matched exactly and then repeated on the next shoot. Tilt runs 90° to -70° with 12 cm (4.72 in) of travel to find the balance point.

Set up it works between 67 cm to 168 cm (26.38 in to 66.14 in), and folds to 89 cm (35.04 in) for transport. The complete system weighs 8.1 kg (17.86 lb). Sachtler rates the head from -40°C to 60°C (-40 °F to 140 °F), so the fluid does not thicken in the cold.
