Gitzo GS3321V75 / GS3322V100 Half-Bowl Video Adapter, Systematic Series 2-4

A Systematic tripod has no centre column, and its top casting takes interchangeable inserts. These two are the video inserts: they turn the flat top into a half bowl so a fluid head can be levelled at the bowl and the legs left roughly where they landed, which is the whole reason a video operator wants a bowl in the first place.

The GS3321V75 takes a 75mm half ball and the GS3322V100 takes 100mm; both fit Series 2, 3 and 4 Systematic tripods, with the exception of the Series 4 aluminium legs. Each is machined aluminium and carries the ring that engages the safety catch on current Systematic legs, so the insert cannot drop out mid-changeover. Long-lens photographers buy them for the same reason as videographers: a fluid head levelled fast beats a ball head fought level.
