Gitzo Traveler Series 1 Carbon Fiber Tripod

The Traveler earns its name from the leg geometry: all three legs rotate 180 degrees up and around the head, so the folded package is 42.5 cm with a ball head still attached. At 1.055 kg the Series 1 is light enough to live on the outside of a daypack, and the carbon tube set still carries a rated 10 kg.

G-lock twist collars run the full length of the legs, and the rapid centre column is removable for ground-level work down to 22 cm. The 4-section GT1545TUS is the stiffer of the two; the 5-section GT1555TUS folds shorter again for carry-on baggage. Both take a 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch head directly.
