Gitzo Systematic Series 5 Giant 6-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod

The Giant is the tall Systematic: six carbon sections that stack to 278 cm without a centre column, so the camera sits well above a crowd, a fence line or a hide. Folded it is 73 cm, which is shorter than most three-section tripods half its height, and it weighs 3.56 kg.

Even fully extended it keeps the Series 5 rating of 42 kg. The 90 mm upper disc accepts the same flat plates, geared and rapid columns, levelling bases and video bowl adapters as the rest of the Series 5 family, and an Easy Link 3/8-16 port on the top casting takes an arm or a light. Leg angles set at 26, 55 and 89 degrees, and a bubble level is built into the disc.
