Gitzo GS5370SDR / GS5370DR / GS5370LDR Quick Release Plate, D Profile with Rubber Grip
A D profile plate is an Arca-Swiss dovetail, so it drops into Gitzo's own clamps and into the third-party heads and rail systems that use the same standard. Two rubber strips run along the top face and bite into the camera base, which is the part that matters: a metal-on-metal plate can creep and let a heavy body rotate under a long lens, and these do not.
Length is the whole decision. The 4cm GS5370SDR suits a small mirrorless body, the 7cm GS5370DR is the standard size and ships with a 1/4 inch screw plus a 3/8 inch adapter, and the 14cm GS5370LDR gives a telephoto rig enough travel to slide fore and aft and find balance, with three 1/4 inch screws. Each tightens with a coin or the supplied hex key, and the short and standard plates carry the shaped hole that takes Gitzo Century strap connectors.
