Gitzo Series 4 Centre Ball Head

This is the largest centre ball head Gitzo builds: 0.9 kg of aluminium on a 60 mm base, rated to a 30 kg safety payload. It is sized for Series 3, 4 and 5 legs carrying a gripped body with a 300 mm or 400 mm lens, where a smaller ball starts to creep once the lock is set.

Ball friction and panning are locked independently, so the head can be levelled once and then panned without losing horizon. A bubble level is set into the base, and front and lateral tilt both run -90 to +40 degrees. The GH4383QD uses the GS5370DR screw-knob plate; the GH4383LR is the same head with a lever release for faster camera swaps.
