ESE ES-229 NTSC/PAL Color Bar / Black-Burst Generator

The ES-229 generates RS-170A full-field color bars or black-burst for aligning monitors and verifying the fidelity of a video path, switchable between NTSC and PAL and between interlace and progressive scanning. Composite and S-Video outputs run simultaneously, so it works whichever connector the equipment under test happens to use.

An Auto-Black mode outputs color bars and tone for a selectable 30 or 60 seconds after the Start button is pressed, then drops automatically to silent black-burst, which suits automated line-up sequences as much as a manual check. Front-panel DIP switches set NTSC pedestal, chroma on/off, and an optional 1 kHz tone at 0 dBm.
