ESE ES-160F Stand-Alone Quartz Controlled Master Clock
The ES-160F is a stand-alone master clock and time code generator for a facility that doesn't have (or doesn't want to depend on) an external GPS or network time reference. A temperature-compensated crystal oscillator holds accuracy to about one second per month on its own, displayed on six 0.56-inch yellow LED digits with automatic daylight saving correction and a coin-cell backup battery that keeps the clock running through a power interruption.
It generates SMPTE-LTC/EBU, ESE, and ASCII (over RS-232 and USB) time code simultaneously, plus a 1 PPS output, and accepts a video reference input for SMPTE/EBU sync when the facility does have house sync to lock to. A universal 90-264 VAC supply and 1.75-inch rackmount enclosure keep it easy to drop into an existing rack, and factory options add a 10 MHz reference input, an OCXO oscillator for tighter drift, an IRIG-B output, or an NTP output port.
