ESE ES-160F Master Clock
This ESE master clock is the timing reference at the head of a broadcast or facility timing chain, holding time to within one second per month. It drives the plant with SMPTE-LTC/EBU, ESE, and ASCII (RS-232 and USB) time code plus a 1 PPS pulse, and shows local time on a 12 or 24 hour display in a compact 1.75-inch rack enclosure.
It disciplines to house timing through an external time-sync input and a video input for SMPTE/EBU synchronization, and corrects for daylight saving time automatically. Dual battery backup (a coin-cell and a gel-cell) rides through power loss, configuration runs over RS-232 and USB, and an optional NTP output port (RJ-45, IPv6) serves time to networked clients.
