ESE ES-150U Master Clock System Switcher

The ES-150U watches a primary ('A') and backup ('B') master clock and switches every output to the backup the instant the primary drops out, so a facility running on ESE and SMPTE/EBU time code does not lose sync to a single point of failure. Four front-panel LEDs report ESE 'A', ESE 'B', SMPTE 'A' and SMPTE 'B' status in green when valid code is present and red when it is not, and separate 'A Active' and 'B Active' LEDs show which set of inputs is currently feeding the outputs.

A Code button selects whether the unit watches ESE, SMPTE or both codes for a fault, and a Mode button chooses Force-A, Force-B, Auto or Trip: Auto switches back to 'A' automatically once it is valid again, while Trip holds on 'B' until an operator presses Reset. SMPTE I/O is on XLR, ESE I/O on BNC, with three sets of passive switched BNCs and five sets of solder-terminal I/O on a rear DB-25. Option DPS adds a second, redundant power supply; option NET adds a web interface for monitoring and control.
