Crestron CEN-GW1 Universal Wireless Gateway
A house full of Crestron wireless usually means a house full of gateways: one for the infiNET EX mesh, another for the ER remotes, another again once sub-GHz shades arrive. The CEN-GW1 collapses that into a single unit. It carries three transceivers and runs SG, infiNET EX and ER devices simultaneously, so keypads, dimmers, motorised shades, thermostats, door locks and handheld remotes all reach the control system through one address. It requires a 3-Series control processor or newer.
infiNET EX is a 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 mesh on channels 11 to 26 where nearly every device relays for the others, reaching about 150 ft indoors to the nearest mesh node; ER is a star topology on the same band at 100 to 200 ft indoors, with devices able to roam between up to eight gateways; SG runs 903 to 926.2 MHz at +27 dBm for about 230 ft indoors and is what carries Crestron's battery-powered shades. Dynamic discovery finds devices during commissioning, a built-in energy scan picks a channel clear of the Wi-Fi, and the whole gateway is powered over the same Ethernet cable that carries its data. The antennas can be relocated with an ANT-EXT-10 per antenna, sold separately.
