Black Box VSC-HDMI-SDI HDMI to 3G-SDI/HD-SDI Converter

A converter for the moment a broadcast or AV chain has to accept a consumer or prosumer HDMI source. It converts HDMI to serial digital interface on two 75-ohm coax BNC outputs, supporting 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and SD-SDI, and autodetects the standard. Conversion is purely digital and real-time, with no loss of video or audio, and it handles 1080p HDMI video and Deep Color.

One of the coax connectors doubles as a loop-out for daisy-chaining to further SDI equipment. Up to eight channels of audio are carried, EDID learning keeps the source and screen talking properly, and the 2.97 Gbps bandwidth of 3G-SDI is handled without difficulty. Configuration is by DIP switch, there is no software or driver to install, and the unit wall-mounts. Pair it with the VSC-SDI-HDMI to run HDMI over coax in both directions.
