Audio-Technica ESRSC Remote Switch Control Interface

The ESRSC is the small black box a contractor drops inline when a microphone needs a switch it did not come with. It sits between the mic and the mixer, takes its power from the same 11-52V DC phantom supply already on the line, and gives the installer three things the mic alone cannot: a user-supplied momentary switch, a user-supplied status LED, and a contact closure that can trigger something else in the rack. It works with any dynamic or condenser microphone, so a boardroom full of goosenecks, boundary mics, and podium mics can all be switched the same way.

A slide switch sets how the button behaves - touch on/off, momentary on (press to talk), or momentary off (press to mute). A second three-position switch decides who is in charge. In Local, the button mutes the mic directly. In Remote, the mic stays open all the time and the button only drives the LED and the closure, which is how you feed a mute request to an acoustic echo canceller or a DSP instead of cutting audio at the mic. In LED Remote, an external tally source drives the indicator so the light always tells the truth about what is live. All four connections - mic in, mic out, LED out, closure out - land on 3-position Phoenix screw terminals, and the four mounting screws are in the box.
