The WMS420 Headworn Set is the hands-free configuration of AKG's entry-level professional UHF system. The C555 L head-worn condenser sits on a behind-the-neck headband that can be worn with the boom on either side, so a presenter, worship leader or fitness instructor keeps both hands free and keeps a constant working distance from the capsule. The PT420 bodypack feeds the SR420 space-diversity receiver, which reads a pilot tone from the transmitter and mutes cleanly instead of popping when the pack is switched off.

Setup is deliberately plain: eight preset compatible channels within Band A, a squelch control, and an audio-clip and RF LED on the front so you can see the state of the link without a laptop. The receiver is a half-rack metal chassis with detachable BNC antennas, so it drops into a rack shelf now and accepts remote antennas later. Both the bodypack and the handheld carry charging contacts for the optional CU400 charger, which is the difference between buying AA cells forever and not.
