AKG WMS470 Vocal Set C5 Wireless Microphone System
The WMS470 Vocal Set C5 pairs the HT470 handheld transmitter with AKG's C5 condenser capsule, the choice when a singer wants detail and air rather than the thicker dynamic voice of the D5. Pilot tone transmission keeps the receiver muted until it sees its own transmitter, so nothing cracks through the PA at power-up, and the transmitter continuously reports its state, including low battery, back to the receiver.
The SR470 receiver runs microcontroller-controlled space diversity in a half-rack metal chassis. Auto Setup, Environment Scan and Rehearsal mode get a channel clean without an RF engineer, and the programmable backlight changes color to flag a low transmitter battery, an audio peak, or a weak radio signal from across the room. An infrared link pushes the receiver's frequency into the handheld, and 1220 selectable frequencies in 25 kHz steps across a 30 MHz switching bandwidth support up to 24 simultaneous channels.
