Vaddio Extreme USB 2.0 Extenders

The Extreme USB 2.0 Extenders are a two-box set that moves a USB device away from the computer driving it. The transmit unit sits at the device and carries the USB type-A female port; the receive unit sits at the host PC; between them a run of Cat-5e or better carries USB 2.0 high speed and USB 1.1 traffic up to 100 m (328.1 ft). It uses Extreme USB Long Reach extension built on the Lion's Gate USB 2.0 extension ASIC.

This is the honest answer for a camera, a touch panel or an audio interface that has to live at the front of a room while the PC lives in a rack, where a passive cable would have given up at 5 m. The transmit side is powered by the supplied 5 VDC supply at the device end.
