Tascam Model 12 Multi-Track Recorder / Mixer / Interface
The Model 12 records 12 tracks at once to an SD card as WAV/BWF files while doubling as a full analog mixer and a 12-in/10-out USB audio interface, so the same box tracks a band, mixes the room, and feeds a DAW without swapping gear. Eight XLR mic inputs run through Tascam's Ultra HDDA preamps for a low noise floor, and eight Hi-Z instrument inputs cover guitars and basses directly.
Built-in effects (reverb, delay, chorus, flanger), a VAMP playback loop function, and mix-minus routing for podcast guests round out the recording side, while HUI/MCU emulation lets it double as a DAW control surface. Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.5mm smartphone input bring in a phone for reference playback or a remote guest, and dual headphone outputs give the host and a guest independent mixes.
