Sony DWT-P30 DWX Gen3 Digital Wireless Plug-On Transmitter
The DWT-P30 clamps onto the back of a wired microphone and puts it on the DWX digital wireless system. The female XLR-3-11C input takes mic or line level, so it works equally well on a reporter's stick mic, a shotgun on a boom, or a feed off a mixer, which is why it turns up on ENG carts and in theater as often as it does in a studio.
It is the same Gen3 radio as the DWT-B30: wide bandwidth up to 148 MHz depending on region, a 375 kHz interval channel plan for dense multi-channel use, and 2, 10 or 25 mW selectable output. Four codec modes are available, with distortion at 0.03 percent or less in modes 1, 2 and 4 and delay as low as 0.7 msec. Input attenuation runs 0 to 48 dB in 3 dB steps, dynamic range is 106 dB typical, and power comes from two AA alkaline cells or 5 V over USB.
