Sony DWT-B30 DWX Gen3 Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter
The DWT-B30 is the Gen3 bodypack in Sony's DWX line, aimed at theater, concert, studio television and ENG. It tunes across a bandwidth of up to 148 MHz depending on region, and the 375 kHz interval channel plan is what lets a large production pack channels tightly without intermodulation trouble. Output is switchable at 2, 10 or 25 mW e.r.p., so the transmitter can be turned down in a small room and up on a long throw.
A fourth codec mode joins modes 1 through 3, with distortion at 0.03 percent or less in modes 1, 2 and 4 and audio delay down to 0.7 msec. Input takes mic or line level with 0 to 48 dB of attenuation in 3 dB steps, and dynamic range is 106 dB typical. Power is flexible: two LR6 AA alkaline cells, or 5 V over the USB connector when the pack is docked or run from an external supply. Cross Remote over 2.4 GHz handles remote setup from Wireless Studio or an RMU-01.
