Sennheiser EW-DX SKM-S Handheld Transmitter
The EW-DX SKM-S is the handheld transmitter for Sennheiser's Evolution Wireless Digital range, the -S version adding a programmable mute switch on the body so a presenter or singer can cut the mic at the mic. Function buttons on the handheld let you reach the transmitter's settings without walking back to the rack, and a rugged metal build takes the abuse of nightly passaround use. It is a transmitter body only and takes an EW-DX, MMD, or MME screw-on capsule chosen for the voice and the room.
It sends a low-latency digital signal with AES 256 encryption at 10 mW ERP for a working range up to 100 m / 328 ft within a 200 kHz occupied bandwidth, and it runs on two AA batteries or the rechargeable BA 70 pack. Setup and monitoring go through the Smart Assist app and Sennheiser Control Cockpit. It ships with the MZQ 1 microphone clamp and is offered in several UHF and 900 MHz tuning ranges.
