Sennheiser e845-S
The e 845-S is the supercardioid vocal dynamic in Sennheiser's e 800 series, the same capsule as the e 845 with a silent on/off switch added. Its tighter supercardioid pattern narrows the pickup to the front of the mic and rejects more of what is off-axis than a standard cardioid, so it holds up in front of loud wedges and high stage volume where feedback is a real risk. A clear, present top end helps a lead vocal cut through a full band.
Built on a rugged metal body with a shock-mounted capsule and a hum-compensating coil, it keeps handling noise and hum low set after set. The silent switch lets a singer or presenter mute the mic without a click through the PA. It runs as a standard balanced dynamic on a 3-pin XLR, no phantom power needed.
